How We Buy For You?
Spring Market was just held in St. Louis, but unfortunately, I was not able to attend. The emails are coming in like crazy with the best of what the vendors had to offer. So, I thought it might be interesting for you to know how a fabric shop buys.
• Know your customers! I need feedback from you like where your interests and styles lie. If you like modern or reproductions, tell me or share it on Facebook. I can order almost anything in for you and the chances are good that someone else will love it too.
• I work off a fabric budget. Fabric budgets are created from what was SOLD last year at the same time. For example if I sold 35 bolts of fabric last November, I can order 35 bolts of fabric to arrive next November. The next time you see a fabric store with no new fabric, you will know two possible reasons: 1) Customers are not buying or 2) The store is planning on closing. These can be related.
• I look for new products and patterns that will knock your socks off.
This process is a bit more complicated, but it is definitely the foundation of what I do. That is why you are so important to me. I take fulfilling your needs very seriously!
